easyJet flights, two separate bookings, outbound leg cancelled

I've read various threads about easyJet cancellation rights but can't find one that matches our situation...
We booked return flights to Barcelona for October half term for a family of 5. Outbound flights were booked in January, but the return flights hadn't been released yet so we booked them as soon as they became available in March. The outbound flight has now been cancelled and we've applied for a refund, but we seem to have no automatic way of claiming a refund for the return flight which is currently still running. Are we entitled to a refund as the outbound flight has been cancelled, or not as they were booked separately?

Afraid not. Two totally separate bookings and the other one is still flying.1

The latter - booking them separately means that cancellation of one flight doesn't get you a refund for both, although it may be that the return leg is also cancelled a few days later, as they're only doing this 2-3 weeks before the flight is due to depart. Are they still selling tickets for the return leg or is it showing as sold out (usually indicative of cancellation)?1

Thanks - that's what I feared. However while it's true that it's two separate bookings, it's clearly intended as a return flight - 5 of us travelling in one direction then returning a week later with the same airline. So it's frustrating this isn't covered.

Also quite a few people split their outbound and inbound across separate airlines because it fits their plans better.
