Hi
i know this has been asked but I can’t find any answers.
we have a trip booked and easyJet have cancelled the return flight back to the U.K. from a European city. We have been offered an alternative airline but the flight times are more than 12 hours difference which means we lose an entire day.
does this return flight cancellation mean we can ask for a legal refund?

This sounds like you have something different to just a flight booking with EasyJet.
Can you give more information? Who have you booked with, is this a holiday or just two flights?0 -
Booked with hays travel to stay in apartments in Poland , flights are with easyJet, outbound flight going ahead it’s just the return that has been cancelled. Alternative airline has flight times that are not suitable and are more than 12 hours later of departure from U.K. so miss first day overseas as we would arrive just before midnight!Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0

So you possibly have a packaged travel arrangements booked with Hays Travel. Do you have an ATOL certificate? This will be a clue. If so, who issued it and does it say multi-contract package on it?
If a package the package seller need to find an alternative flight arrangement for you if one or both flights are cancelled or timing or departure/arrival airports significantly changed. It would seem Hays Travel have done this for you and fulfilled that obligation. It is just that the alternative times are disliked. Correct?
If you do have a package arrangement then I would reread your terms and conditions with Hays to see what the definition of a significant change is. Often it can be +12 hours.
If the new flight is outside of this then you should be able to ask for a cancellation and full refund if that is what you want. If within the boundaries of flight change times then by all means talk nicely to Hays and discuss options but I don’t think they need to refund.

Yes I understand that but your question as to whether you can cancel and obtain a refund will depend on the type of arrangement booked (as a package or not) and the terms and conditions you agreed with the travel provider.
I suggest you review the t&c’s first to understand your position, then speak with Hays Travel to see what can be done.0
