Calathea Surprise in distress

Options
Hello,

Attached is a photo of my calathea surprise.

It is being misted regularly.  It gets the correct amount of indirect sunlight. It takes its own water from a reservoir so not over watered.

My calathea medallion is thriving under the same conditions.

Can someone tell me why the leaves on the Surprise look so unwell so that I can ‘cure’ what ails it?

Many thanks and best wishes.

  • Is it near a radiator or a draught etc? I have a calathea of a different type that seems to be very temperature sensitive!

Assuming there is nothing attacking the roots. Give it a good drink from the top and let it drain through. It might get the same treatment as your other calathea but like humans some might like a bit more of a drink than others!

Stick your finger in the soil to see how wet it is
Take the plant out of the pot to check the roots
Put it somehwere brighter and warmer.

Just googling curled leaves one theory that predominated was too much light or too warm.
Time to give it a tour of your accommodation. See where it likes to be.
I have a Peace Lilly and it doesn't like some places but does others. The difference in it's appearance is dramatic.

The soil is moist to the touch. I’ve tried different sunlight intensities but no difference.
