Maybe surprising only one in three.

Maybe surprising only one in three.
1 in 3 is in line with previous surveys and the figure would be higher if it hadn't been for social and leisure activities being impossible for so long and people finding themselves getting refunds for holidays instead of going on holiday.
  • I know very few people that have been furloughed and  know only one person made redundant.
At the very beginning of this those (i know) that wanted payment holidays, council tax suspended or universal basic incomes from the government are ones that haven't been furloughed or had reduced hours or salaries.
I do work in the public sector so it's harder for me to judge, as all my colleagues haven't been adversely affected and there has been no talk of their friends and family in difficulty.
We only really go to the shops and people are still loading their trollies, we've been to Legoland and that was busy and people spending.
The only difference I did notice was a very quiet Windsor over the summer holidays.

  • 1 in 3 say they've been hit financially ??
Come on, i would have thought far higher 😣
I know of dozens that were furloughed and several made redundant.
There are a lot of very, very, worried people out there teetering on the edge of financial collapse, Christmas is looking at us from the supermarket aisles and the media's love of scaremongering has already started, these headlines, exacerbating fear, annoy me no end 😣

See point I made earlier.  Many people have seen their income reduced but they've also ended up spending less due to places being closed, holidays being cancelled, not commuting to work etc. so their financial situation isn't noticeably different because both incomings and outgoings have reduced.

There's also some people whose financial situation has improved because their income has stayed the same but their spending has reduced, so their financial situation is still affected but not in a negative way.

Then there are some people who haven't been affected at all.
