Lloyds Bank not issuing cheques

I received a PPI outcome letter dated the 17th August informing me that my claim had been successful and that a cheque would be posted to me by the 11th September 2020, this day has come and guess what no cheque received. I have contacted Lloyds only to be told that there appears to have been a technical issue which has meant that my cheque has not been produced. I had an apology (for what its worth) and advised that the issue would be escalated internally and a cheque issued, I asked how long it would be and was advised that all cheques can take up to 28 days to be produced and sent out, I did say that this was therefore adding interest and was told that there would be a recalculation. Seems to me that that this may be a common issue, how many more have had cheques delayed/not sent due to Lloyds bank apparent lack of robust audit and crosschecks ensuring that things are processed correctly.

  • Not too many.  These issues are normally picked up fairly quickly.
  • i'm in the same boat with black horse,
had the final decision latter in September (dated 17/09/20) stating that the cheque would be with my by the 14/10/20, well same as you the day came & went & no sign of the cheque, rang them only to be told that the cheque had been generated on 5/10/20 but they were unable to see if it had been posted but if want ed they could cancel it & issue another one in 28 days.
i'm about to call black horse again & see what they have to say.
