Quote Me Un-happy.com

I recieved my renewal quote today from Norwich Union. I have been with them for a while as they always seems to offer me the best renewal quote that I can't beat. This year the cost of my car insurance rose by £120!!! Same cover, same car. I did a search on the net and found a quote with lower excess for £140 less!!! Great. But guess who it was with?????
Norwich Union.
So after calling them and complaining, they lowered my policy to that amount. I lost my death policy legal aid, but were they worth £140?
How can they vary so much in their prices? I may still ditch them yet if I can find it cheaper before the 26th June.

It pays to shop around!!! I had a similar problem with TESCO a few years ago. In the end I canceled my old policy and started a new on the same day and saved £125 madness.

Afraid that this is a long standing problem. Insurance companies often seem to actively encourage new business (via discounts, etc.), while allowing existing business to slip through their fingers.

As per previous posts, always best to shop araound - even with your existing insurer!!
