Pockit preaid card restricted account

Good afternoon all,
Nearly 10 weeks ago Pockit (prepaid card) restricted my account to undertake a 'review'.
They requested proof of ID, proof of source of funds & various other documents.
All documents requested were sent.
I spoke with them on the phone and they confirmed that everything should now be okay and my account would be reactivated (this was 3/4 weeks ago)
They are now ignoring my emails and there telephone system is apparently undergoing an upgrade so I'm unable to make contact with them.
It appears that they are doing it to alot of people according to twitter where 30+ people are posting the same things.
I have opened a case with the ombudsman but it's likely to take months to get a response.
I have over £1300 in my account and find it highly unfair that they are allowed to do this to people.
Any help/advice much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Harry

Get yourself a proper bank account.
Having said that any suspicious (to the bank) transactions will be investigated and your funds will be frozen until they are satisfied that they are legitimate.1 -
But i haven't done anything to cause alarm, used it as a budgeting account, few gambling transactions but mainly shopping/online shopping is all it's been used for.Surely it's not fair to just freeze accounts and not respond?A quick check on twitter will show this company are doing it to 100's of people! If i was able to easily get a bank account I would have done so (probably in a position to do so now but it doesnt help with the account that's frozen)Thanks for your response.Harry0

...........Few gambling transactions?0

It's a risk you take if you choose to use a prepaid card/e-money account. They love being gung-ho with blocking access to your money and there's nothing you can do about it if they don't reply. The FOS are swamped, I've had a case I opened 8 months ago and I've only just had an acknowledgement.
I stopped using Pockit months ago when they set their systems to automatically block your account and send an email requesting proof of source of funds every other time you top it up by a couple hundred quid. You send the same documents every time it happens and it takes them over a week to reply.
Use a proper bank if you can.0 -
It's ridiculous, yes I used it for a few gambling transactions, among plenty of other general transactions like shopping etc. It was a way of keeping my gambling/luxuries separate from my bills so I don't see a problem with that?I have supplied all of the documents they have requested so what gives them the right to now just ignore me and withhold my money?0

You will just have to be patient.0 -
It's no issue being patient but near on 12 weeks now is a bit excessive isnt it?There phone lines are down for an 'upgrade' and they don't response to any of my emails0
