Ryanair - double check they have registered your refund request.

Just a tip to anyone else waiting for a Ryanair refund... I've been patiently hanging on for my refund (June flight cancelled in early May. Refund requested on day flight was cancelled) but decided to follow up on it today through their online chat. Once I got through to a real person (after about 25mins wait) I discovered that their "system" had no record of me actually requesting a refund (despite my having a printout of it on my office wall). So I had to go through the process of requesting a refund all over again.
I've now been promised a refund within three working weeks (not holding my breath!)

If you too have been patiently waiting without hearing anything I suggest you once again request your refund to ensure that it is actually on their "system". You can go through their chatbot though it may be easier to simply go through this link https://onlineform.ryanair.com/ie/en/cash-refund . Make a note of the date and take a screenshot of it and print it out. If you go through the chat line take several screenshots of the chat for your records. Be warned once you terminate the chat your conversation will disappear from your screen at lightning speed and Ryanair will not offer to send you a copy!

I strongly suspect that Ryanair are largely using this strategy as yet another means of delaying payments.

    Thanks for this. I've had three emails with forms to fill in to request a refund since June, Filled them in and just received another today, Sept 16th.

    My flights were cancelled in July, and I immediately requested a refund, rather than accept the alternate flights.  As the date of the flight was approaching in Sept I continued to receive reminders to check-in - and nothing to do with the refund.  I raised a dispute with Amex, and three days later the dispute was closed successful, and Ryanair emailed to say I'd been refunded.
  • They have asked me three times if I still want the cash, last time yesterday. June flight cancelled in May and still waiting for refund. I notice he has stopped shouting that 90% of refunds will be done by July!

    I requested a refund from Ryanair (they cancelled the flight) around three weeks ago.

    Got an email yesterday;
    'As part of processing your recent refund request, we issued you with Travel Voucher(s)'

    Email contains a link to select if I'd like to proceed with a refund.

    Contrast this with an Easyjet flight that I requested a refund for on the same date.  I received that refund three days ago.  I've been very impressed with the Easyjet refund process.  Yes, a refund for a June flight took a while to arrive (about 40 or so days from memory) but the process was clear, there were no 'here's a voucher in case you didn't really want a refund' emails and there were regular updates. The most recent refund only took around three weeks.

    Contrast with BA where they sent me a text asking if I'd like to cancel a booking - text back 3 (for refund) and you have the money back within days.
