Aviva has resolved my issue satisfactorily

Thanks for the feedback on this - I just had a call from Aviva who very professionally sorted out the issue with my claim, which reassured me about their brand

Is it joint travel insurance? What do the original terms of the insurance say about joint cover?
I wouldn't automatically assume all travel insurance offers joint cover.0 -
I'm not sure of the specifics for your partner claiming but it seems broadly fair to only pay part of the cost when you didn't insure all the parties with the insurer you are claiming from.1

If you took out sole cover then that is responsible for your share of the costs. Not the other traveller's share.Now, I just don't see how he could even file a claim because he has not paid for the accommodation, was not expected to, but Aviva says that his bank ought to allow a claim for 50% of the accommodation costs it says it will not pay.I dont see why that is not a problem as source of payment is not an issue where it is spouse/civil partner.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
