Super cheap, cheapest of cheap head units

My standard head unit is poor. No USB, doesn't play CDs despite sticking a cleaning disc in.
With the other issues with the car I'm reluctant on spending too much right now. Ideally I'd want one with Android Auto I think, but a decent one - and that's going to cost.
So between now and then I hopped on Google for a cheap double DIN touch display head unit and these were coming up at the £30-£40 region. Like I said, super cheap.
Anyone here tried one or know of anyone who's tried one?
I don't expect the features to be the best but so long as everything works, then should be OK for the time being.
I'm just weary that it'll likely be made of God knows what that'll overheat and set the car on fire.

We got one for about £35 and it is fine - all we want is music player, sat nav and external camera - which it has.
Also loaded a free customisable front end on it from Play store (sorry cant remember which one)0 -
Have you had it long?
All I want is the option for USB connectivity. Rear would be ideal but I know the chances are I'd have to settle for front USB port. Bluetooth. And if it also came with Maps or Waze then bonus. That's about it. I'm not fussed about DAB and while a rear camera would be handy, I'd have to get someone else to wire it in which adds more cost and I'd have to find a time when I could be without the car etc so for now it's not a big thing to have no camera.0 -
Its been in about 6 months. Yes it has USB connectivity and the sat nav was built in. It also has wifi and bluetooth.0

Was it an eBay job?You don't have a link to the one you got do you?0

Depends on what stereo you have fitted now. Sony one good luck with that one. Have you seen the shape of it?

My personal experience. Cheap double din head units are a waste of money. No am, lw, mw radio. Crashes. Crackles. Screen freezes. Stick with the OEM, JVC, Kenwood, Sony etc. The eBay Amazon cheap units are very poor.1

I dont have a link but it looks like this - there are several on Ebay that look the same.

The price seems to have gone up a bit but mine was Android 8 not 10.
Software launcher we use is Frontend Car Launcher

Bear in mind that the instructions are not good but that is usually the case with cheap imports.1

forgotmyname said:Have you seen the shape of it?Well it's in front of me when i sit in the car so yes.Unless you're talking about once it's removed, then since i've not done that then no.It's this one as shown by the first reply to the guy (kpallund): https://talkford.com/community/topic/126664-sony-6-cd-changer/ that i have in the car at the moment. Not overly fussed about AM or LW - don't listen to them. I rarely listen to the radio anyway although obviously would rather have a working radio. I mostly listen to my iPod.

Yep that one. Its not rectangular to the front face.
The rear section is angled downwards. If you fit a standard length unit it wont sit flush.
Standard on the left and yours on the right. You could dremel the heater/AC housing for clearance
or fit a short unit.
