hi all,ive just recieved a letter demanding an outstanding balance of some £3000.i accept that the debt is mine and outstanding, however over 7 years we got into financial trouble and contacted our creditors and got a few ccj.this company ( lombard) never replied to any letters,so we left it.according to my credit file:the start date was27/09/96,the end date was the 05/06/97 .why i dont know as the loan was for 24 months.the "insight last updated" was on the 15/07/97.
i thought there was a six year rule were creditors couldnt chase you for debts over six years old.or am i mistaken.this is truthly the only comunication i have ever had.oh,the letter is not from lombard but aktiv kapital debt recovery group.any advice would be gratefull.

Good stuff Tetley (is that Beer or Tea?)

I rather guess that they assumed you didn't know your rights .... :)

Just forget about it until (if?) they contact you again.

If you do exactly what the National Debtline say, you'll be fine.
