I need to change my supplier, But DO NOT want a Smart Meter, and No Exit Fee.
Would like to go with BG, but they have a home service + Smart meter tarriff which is less than I am paying, but do not want the Home Service or the Smart Meter.

The reason I mention BG is that they currently offer The cheapest tariff of the big 5, but that is with a smart meter.

To answer the folk that think I am a Tin Foil hat wearer, your wrong. I just know people that has had so many problems with them, and it is a preference. So forget the conspiracy theories.

So many small minded people, who love to put people down. I have tried sites to compare, but none Ofer me the choice to filter out smart meters. I also am not great with figures. I’m sure somone will put me down for that.

Any Ideas plaese.

Money Saving Expert do not offer a filter to exclude Smart Meters.

Thank You

Go with whatever BG tariff has no home services and no smart meter.  Expect to pay through the roof.  Why is this even a question?

The OP could do what the rest of us would do - either go onto a comparison site or if he's got a preference for BG, then go straight to their site and see what is on offer or even use the phone to ask them rather than expecting someone on here to do the digging.
Unless he finds one of the smaller companies which don't yet support them at the moment then I suspect he'll end up paying a premium for being anti smart meter with BG.

@mikeypr1212 This is a money saving site. You'll have to decide whether you want to save money or be a BG customer.

If you want to save money, put your consumption details into a comparison site (try Citizens Advice) and the cheapest suppliers (Zog, Neon Reef, etc) will also conveniently be the ones who don't stress about smart meters. That'll be 2 of your 3 requirements met!
  • Octopus may be worth a look as they have no exit fee and tarifs which are not dependent on a smart meter reading.

No, that's guaranteed to end up with a cripplingly expensive rate.  BG show only their most expensive tariffs on their website, and it won't even acknowledge the existence of their online version, British Gas X.  The latter is so well hidden that the BG call centre staff have been telling punters that it's a scam !

The OP may not be too keen on Octopus's support for defunding the police and closing the prisons...

Still misrepresenting their plan to spend their own money on their own staff and working environment I see... :)

Nope.  Octopus still say that they support an organisation with those stated objectives.

I you should only go for the best price for you, but you could look at So energy who don't make you have a smart meter and only have £10 exit fee. I switched to them because of this, but price for me was better than SP and they have the WHD scheme.
