Parking Charge Notice from ParkingEye

I have just received a PCN from ParkingEye. It does not say anywhere on it "Notice to keeper" that I keep seeing mentioned.
It was for an overstay at a ALDI car park. After shopping I noticed I had a puncture and contacted my partner. (not with any breakdowners)
As he was at work,he had to finish first before he could come an help. I arranged a lift home with the shopping and when he got home he picked me up to
take me to the car to replace the wheel. Obviously this took time. I have proof of new tyres fitted on the following saturday. I can prove I shopped there
with bank statement.
Do I need to explain all of this to them or just tell them to go forth?
KC

Did you read the NEWBIE sticky?
If so, you know what to do.
If not, suggest you do and then complain (not appeal) to Aldi to get it cancelled - this is Plan A.  You were shopping there and you had a breakdown (vicissitude) .

it may not say Notice To Keeper , but if it came in the post with the keepers name and address on it then its a postal Notice sent To the Keeper , an NTK , even if it says Parking Charge notice (PCN) or INVOICE

the ideal situation is a complaint to ALDI and a cancellation by them , even if you contact their CEO by email, known as plan A in the newbies faq sticky thread announcement near the top of the forum

get it cancelled at source is always the best option than wrestling with an alligator that is hungry

It won't help you this time OP, but I had a similar problem a year or so ago in a Tesco car park.

Having done my shopping, I returned to my car which wouldn't start. I knew it would be several hours before I could get help, so I asked Customer Services in the store what I should do.

They typed my reg. no. into a terminal on their desk and announced "You now have permission to leave your car on the car park for up to 24 hours. Come back and see me if that is not enough time".

It really is not a good idea to abandon your car in any car park.
  • Thank you all for your prompt replies. As for the NEWBIES sticky or threads. the site does not seem very user friendly when it comes the that. I tried to find it and decided it was easier to post a new thread.

    Great!

You can check on ParkingEye's website next week by pretending to 'pay' and it will tell you if it's cancelled.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
