Exchange on day of completion?

Fingers crossed for you today! I am sure it will all be fine!0

Not it won't - exchange and complete in the same day makes no difference to timings and as for stress - on the day makes little difference. Having done it a few weeks back the only slight stress is paying your removals without the certainty of exchange. But on the day it was exactly the same as the normal process - sale was done by 11 - purchase by 1. Not a huge issue at all.Brock_and_Roll said:If exchange & completion same day becomes the "new normal" (doubt it), the sight of bored removal men standing around for hours will be a common sight (along with heart attacks for stressed buyers and sellers)!0 -
Losing thousands in removal costs and not being able to arrange broadband, TV, redirect mail etc. which all require notice would be a huge issue to me.iwb100 said:

I mean even if you exchange beforehand problems can arise - so your issue with removals isn't mitigated entirely by exchanging ahead.jaxkesa said:

We changed our addresses and redirects over ahead of time - you can always reverse them.
The point is that in normal times there is no need to exchange and complete on the same day, but we're not in normal times. Would losing your deposit be a bigger or smaller issue than your removals cost?

just moved some stuff a few hundred miles (before completion) - removals offloaded and were due to head back when they found the boss had found another job locally with a load to be taken back with them. Seems there is a lot of last minute business in the removals line these days0
