Hadn't updated registration number on app

I have just received a parking fine from parkingeye from when I was parked at local hospital for an appointment. I paid the correct amount on the paybyphone app but hadn't updated my car registration number on the app when I bought my car a couple of months ago.
Do I have a case? Or do I just pay?

The case is that this is a breach of these regs, because this was a distance contract but without the correct information supplied by the provider in a transparent manner, and without making it clear and obvious that you MUST override any stored data:

    https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2013/3134/contents/made

The burden is not upon you to ensure old data is overridden - that is unfair.

However, send an appeal that is NOT the template from the NEWBIES thread, pointing out the app failed to make this clear, and complain to PALS of course - but anyone who has read the NEWBIES THREAD first, knows that is always 'PLAN A'.

Was it a Golden ticket?  As per the example shown in post #3 of the NEWBIES?

Let's see the front - suitably redacted, please leave all dates showing - but that reverse side looks extremely promising on the Golden Ticket front.

So date of issue is Saturday 5th September and deemed to have been received two working days later, which would be Tuesday 8th. This is day 15 after the parking event and therefore, the NTK fails to comply with POFA.

As Golden as they come. Proceed via the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, first post, particularly noting the details pertaining to a PE Golden Ticket.  Do not reveal the driver's identity - PE may put a hold on your appeal to come fishing for this, ignore then await their decision on your initial appeal. They've missed the PoFA deadline by a day in order to hold the keeper liable - oops.

    Bingo!

I am glad I asked but I wasn't really expecting that!  A P/Eye PCN with no POFA wording because they know it was likely to arrive late.

    PERFECT FOR YOU.
