Hi all
I booked a package holiday to Maldives with travel republic in January to fly on 19th October, paying £600 per month (total of £6200)
They have closed their phone lines and i've sent multiple messages, the oldest being 95 days old with no reply.
My query now is, i have two payments left, the last one they were due to take on 31st August but have not attempted to take it. There is absolutely no way of speaking to them.
I paid the installments on a credit card, is it safe to assume the holiday is cancelled? Should i do a chargeback request with card provider?

You will be contacted 14 days prior to travel. Depending on the FCO advice of your travel destination you will be given various options.
E.g.. 1. pay the balance if you wish to travel
2. Cancel with a full refund (if FCO advise against all but essential travel)
Etc.
My balance wasn't taken either. But I advise you not to cancel any payments yourself with the credit card provider.
Unfortunately they do not respond to any customer service requests so it's just a waiting game.
Good luck.
I'm not sure but I think your card provider will not help until the travel date has passed.0 -
Even more frustratingly they are now at 7 days before travel, not 14!

They did contact me 14 days before travel. It may have changed now. Keep a regular check on their Twitter account.0
