Covered By Travel Insurance?

We booked separate flights, hotel stay (non-refundable) and cruise prior to COVID 19 and received notification from our travel insurance that all bookings already in place would be covered for COVID 19 issues.

We would be scheduled to fly out to Barcelona tomorrow, however the flights and cruise have been cancelled and we have already received a refund for these parts of the trip.  We contacted the hotel and despite the room being non-refundable they are willing to allow us to amend our dates withn the next 12 months.  I appreciate this is a generous gesture, but given the current situation I'm not sure we would be able to make use of the credit within the next 12 months.

Given the current FCO advice is it likely our travel insurance would cover the costs of the hotel?  Is the fact it is a non-refundable room likely to mean it isn't covered?
