Parking charge notice after the waiter told us not to pay/input car reg

Hi

I recently visited a pub for a meal which under usual circumstances we’d input our car reg on the screen and this would allow us free parking. However when we went last Sunday they informed us to not put our reg in on the screen due to COVID, I have now received a parking charge and I was just wondering where I stand with this?
It seems unfair that I should pay this

WEll of course you dont bloody pay!
Instruct the PPC - which is? FULL EXACT NAME NO GUESSING - to cancel as you had a superior instruction from their principal 
ASk the pub to cancel because, well, duh. They told you to do something, they should have dealt with that already.

Wow that is ridiculous!  Obviously all the patrons affected need to get the pub (or pub chain) to get the PCNs cancelled.

Worrying that you haven't told us which PPC it is, nor seem to have read the NEWBIES thread at the top of the forum, re how to win.

Well that is music to my ears, it was "Euro Car Parks" that issued the charge
Who should be my first call, Euro Car Parks or the Pub?

The pub ... you have time yet to file an appeal with ECP, so go for the Organ Grinder first rather than the Monkey.

As said, go the pub owner/manager and get them to cancel.
Clearly the pub have not told Euro. The pub is right to stop this due to covid.


You will not be alone and the pub should tell Euro to cancel ALL tickets since they re-opened
The penalty for the pub if it goes in the local paper and tripadvisor will be less customers

Best thing for the pub to do is switch off the power to the ANPR camera
