Estates held in trust in Scotland

Hi,
Does anyone know how long roughly it takes for an estate held in trust to be paid out?
A little bit of a back story... Back in May I discovered my grandmother had passed away (I had never met her due to my parents divorcing... I'm absolutely amazed she even left anything in her will!), I was forwarded her will and a letter from the solicitors saying that it was a straightforward estate and they'd be in touch once it was settled. That was a few months ago now.
I know nothing of these things, and I really feel like it would be cheeky to ask how much longer it's going to take! However last week I lost my job, the strain of Covid on another company!.... Anyone have any idea roughly how long it takes for inheritance to be paid out?
Many thanks

It can take many months to deal with an estate.
No reason why you should not check progress with the solicitor.
