UK Hotel closed. Not able to contact. No refund

Hi. I'm sure this has been asked a million times already but I'm a little confused. I had a B&B booked for a friend's wedding in October. I booked in November last year. I wished to contact them about the booking however the phone number is disconnected, the emails bounce back and the website has disappeared. I have recieved no communication from them cancelling my booking and now can't get a refund. I have travel insurance, and as the booking was made prior to covid assume I'm covered, however I would have to pay the excess. I was wondering if this would be a valid circumstance for either a charge back or section 75 (credit card used for booking) but can only find information on using these facilities for faulty goods. Not failure to provide a service.

I would definitely instigate a chargeback if the hotel is closed and phone disconnected.   If you paid by credit card and it is over £100 you could do a section 75 but would try a chargeback first.  

The bank will have wanted you to exhaust all other avenues to try to get a refund from the B and B which sounds like you have. If you have proof, attach it.  

If all that fails then yes insurance but as you say you will forfeit the excess.
