I have just made a claim for a second hand car I bought from a dealer few days ago. Appears starter motor, making a noise.
Told fix it or more damage. No idea.
If the credit card provider agrees to cover the cost. Can I claim for taxi to work for the day the car is in?
Never utilised this protection before all new! I would hope they allow funds for mechanical look then repair. Again no idea how this works.
What's likely to happen? I never went to dealer as not comfortable with confrontation and read the card provider is jointly liable and no need to go to retailer first.

Presumably you've approached the seller and they've said Bog Off, hence why you've made a S75 claim?0

Possibly not, ("I never went to dealer as not comfortable with confrontation and read the card provider is jointly liable and no need to go to retailer first."). OP you still need to contact the retailer first, S75 is not as easy as that,DoaM said:Presumably you've approached the seller and they've said Bog Off, hence why you've made a S75 claim?Peter

I skim-read and got bored before the end of the OP.

While it may be a good idea, it's certainly not needed to make a claim under section 75.nyermen said:

That's what joint and several liability means. You have a choice of chasing one, the other or both. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride1 -
There is a thread in the credit card section about this.
OP seems to think that dealing with the CC will be easier than the retailer....
OP is going to have to prove the issue.
I can just imagine the laugh the rep is going to have when the OP explains the reason in the same way as here....
Starter motor makes a noise... Well yes sir, they all do that..Life in the slow lane0
