i am surprised they didnt tbh, in the initial instruction letter from mine it was about 8 pages long and every detail was covered.
This is what was sent in the email.

    ” Good Morning.

    Hope you are well,

We note that your source of funds come from personal savings, please can you provide us with some form of documentation such as a bank statement which shows the accumulation of these funds.

Further to this, we must know how these have been accumulated for example; salary savings, property sale, inheritance etc, as you can appreciate we follow a strict anti-money laundering policy, thank you.

    Kind Regards,”

You could just send them what you can easily lay your hands on and await their clarification if they expected something more.
  • 300k savings for a 23 year old shop worker declaring its from accumulation of wages...... Seems odd, maybe they will ask for a year, or 2, or 3 years statements to try catch out the potential fraud

50k savings, 40 year old accountant, maybe 3 months will show enough to satisfy any concerns

There is no hard and fast rule, they wil go back far enough to satisfy any concerns
