DebsFran said:D0 you have a outdoor bike? if so you could buy a bike trainer for as little as £60, its a frame that you slot your bike into and it makes it static. I bought one in the first lockdown so I was still able to ride my bike but indoors
I have a few health conditions including quite bad rh arthritis, and this is low impact exercise (walking sets off my joints and feet very badly and steep hills here so always get breathless). I use a hemp active gel on hips and knees and that stops any pain I get from the movement. I also have asthma and I find, right now, if I go above 5km I start coughing non stop even though I dose myself up with asthma medication beforehand. So dropped back to 3km, just decided to do that twice a day and see if that helps me build up fitness but within the limits of the various conditions.
I've actually decided to upgrade. The bike is brillliant for what it is, really helped me build up leg muscle strength and stamina quite quickly but the monitor is a bit small. So I'm going to get a larger monitor bike. I really do enjoy using it. have it in front of my pc so I can watch anything I like but I would rather like one with large monitor, but it looks like I will have to buy a pad of some sort and a bike to connect it to and of course and subscription fees for apps (might as well join a gym - if they were open lol). Looks like that will cost more than I can pay. But I do love this form of exercising without exacerbating various conditions I have. I hope to be able to build up so I can get on my real bike and negotiate the hills around here.
But for a really cheap training bike, what I purchased was what I needed to start on and really good value for money. It was delivered. It started squeaking the day after I set it up (which was easy) so just oiled it and been fine ever since. Seat is ok.0
