    Opti bike arrived this evening.
Though only 15kg approx, it still would take some effort to carry from store to car- I chose delivery.
I'll need to re check some connections tomorrow, though Managed 10 minutes tonight.
I have some washers left over-prob my poor connections ability-their not flat and at times seemed to hinder connecting stabilisers pedals and handlebars.
The Seat that sits on top of stem, is slightly loose, again didn't quite grasp the pre fitted bolts+washers.
Though the Stem slides into frame fairly easily.
Monitor holder is very loose, though this is final point to re check tomorrow.
1st usage points, I'm 4ft9 slight build- this bike is ideal size.
As there isn't much space between handlebars, I'de recommend average size people consider other exercise bikes.
Seat height is useful for me prob exceeds 5ft and slightly higher.
I've left 3 clear holes from seat so using 4th hole from top of stem.
Bike is very much quieter than I could have hoped for , almost Zero sound.
Silver bits on each handle bars aren't buttons, though Pulse counter seems to work when my hands were covering Silver parts.
There is Tension -Not by Gym Cycle standards-though noticeable enough in legs and lower muscles.
I have often used level 10 for 10 mins in Gym -this home cycle is up-to level 8, I mixed from Mid to High then Low.
10 Minutes complete and was starting to sweat -last Gym was Feb before shutdown.
Digi Monitor is simple LCD -scans through Time Speed etc including Calories+Pulse.
    I'll add photo's tomorrow.
    Seems and excellent inexpensive Purchase.

Unlucky as Amazon purchased seat cover doesn't quite stretch enough to cover opti seat.
Requesting refund, though Opti seat is no where near as hard as some others have suggested,

Would a pair of padded shorts help with comfort?

D0 you have a outdoor bike? if so you could buy a bike trainer for as little as £60, its a frame that you slot your bike into and it makes it static. I bought one in the first lockdown so I was still able to ride my bike but indoors

As a previous owner of a few, my view is this, avoid argos, avoid plastic looking things! there are plenty of second hand spin bikes around, great value, solid and built to last, however they are very heavy!
  • Bit late to the discussion, but choosing a decent exercise bike depends on what you are going to use it for and how much you want to spend. If you are just looking for something to ride 20 mins a day without much resistance then something at the cheaper end of the scale will probably do. If you are looking for a bike that will allow you some sort of structured workout, then you might need to invest in something more robust. I would recommend looking at JLL IC300 pro bikes - they have magnetic resistance which means that they are a lot quieter than other bikes. They also have a display which lets you track calories, speed etc. You can pick them up second hand but as everyone wants a bike at the mo, you might have to just drop lucky!
if money is no object, consider the Keizer M3 which is a superb bike and set the bar for other manufacturers for years. These also retain their value second hand but they are a great piece of kit.

    Hi mser's
I avoided expensive Peleton, though their App is decent for indoor Cycling-+Dumbbells.
Until I get decent indoor cycling machine, basic Argos Opti is in use.
    JLLL IC300 looks interesting.

  • If you know the basics of bikes, a turbo trainer and indoor tyre (spare wheel optional but useful) are great and can be cheaper than any sort of subscription service, there are hundreds if not thousands of free workout videos on youtube from basic ride along, look at the scenery types to full on indoor training sessions, spin classes etc My current setup could be done for around £500 plus whatever you want to watch youtube on
