Where can I buy Chanel Repair Liability Indemnity Insurance (NOT Through solicitor)

Such a nightmare with apparently no easy access for Joe Public.
Solicitors quote £19 but £39 plus VAT to set up! Seems a rip off.
Anyone have any sensible links please from experience as I've looked for a few hours now without any joy.
Thanks in anticipation.

I thought it was only sold through solicitors?

If this is in respect of a property purchase, why nickel and dime over an additional £46.80 (£39 + VAT) when the purchase contract will be for tens or hundreds of thousand pounds?

Just pause and think about what the chances of any kind of meaningful payout are from a <£20 insurance policy.

If you need it to satisfy the lender's or buyer's insistence, fifty quid is cheap.
If you don't, then the concept itself is pointless.

You've wasted a few hours so far... what saving do you think would justify that effort?  A tenner? Just think about what that says about the value you place on your time.

If it's needed for the lender's benefit, the solicitor will need to check that your insurance is suitable - for which I would expect them to charge a similar (or higher) fee as for using their usual supplier.

And generally the insurers don't want the regulatory hassle involved in selling (and advising) directly to consumers.
  • I got it via the solicitor as well.
  • Google search result no1 is Aviva.
