I have grown to ignore “ my hum”. Is there construction work nearby, a motorway upgrade or underground work,   I contacted my local environmental officer who, give him his due , came out and conducted a survey. The only conclusion he came , according to my OH is that I’m crazy!

My first thought was water hammer.
Various causes and cures. Is there any relationship to your water use? taps/showers used? Toilet flushed? heating switching on? attic tank filling up?
