Try Citizens Advice.  They may know someone who can repair it cheaply, or be able to advice on financial help that is available.  What exactly is the problem with the washing machine?  Is it showing an error code on the display?  Sometimes it's something as simple as a blocked filter or a tangled hosepipe.  Read the manual to see whether that offers any suggestions.

A combination of washing some items by hand with an occasional launderette visit should see you through for a few months whilst you save for some repairs.
As others have said, check for an error code and see if its something simple and try looking up washing machine repair on youtube. Its amazing how some complicated things are actually simple to fix with a little knowledge.

  • Try Facebook or Gumtree.  You might even find somebody getting rid of an old machine just because they are getting a new kitchen fitted - which is wasteful in my eyes, but that's today's society for you!

What exactly is the problem?  Give us a few clues.

Does anything light up, or is it completely dead?  Does it fill with water and turn the drum? Does it stop and sulk in mid cycle?

There often a drainage filter - make sure it's not blocked.

If it's really faulty, you could try placing a Wanted ad in Freecycle and Freegle.

@mea1 with respect you really do need help with your day to day living. What are the small problems for many of use I think are very challenging in your eyes. Its all very well some posters, with the best of intentions, suggesting you look of Facebook, check filters etc but from what you say on this and other threads life has not been easy and you struggle with many things, without family or friends to help.

Do not look down on Social Services they are there to help you.
