Carshop problems

Last year I bought a car from carshop on finance. I have a low credit rating so it was quite difficult. After finally being accepted I also took out the service and mot package. As soon as I took delivery of the vehicle I noticed there was a problem with the gears. Its an automatic car and the gears were sluggish between changes. I phoned carshop and they said bring it in and they would look at it. It was in 2 weeks before they returned it saying they had recalibrated the gears. Driving home it felt no different. I phoned them again. Again they said return it. 2 weeks later I got it back, still no change. So it went back and they sent it to a dealership garage to be looked at. They again recalibrated it. Still no change on gear change. Again I phoned, this time they said I had to take it to get diagnostics done. I did. And I had to pay the cost of this. £130. The garage who did the diagnostic test said they felt the car would need a new autoclutch fitted and that would cost us about £2000 inclusive of all parts and labour. I couldn't afford that. I do have an extended warranty on the car, but obviously it didn't include the clutch, wheels, tyres or anything classed as a perishable. Again it went back to carshop. This time they had it 5 months. When we got it back, no change, they have now told me it is not financially viable for them to get it repaired and that I ha e took refuse the car with my finance company and if I want a car take out a new finance. I've paid £2820 on my finance e already and they feel it acceptable I go ahead with their suggestion. What are my actual rights here?

How old is the car?
Did you test-drive it prior to agreeing the purchase?
Why did you not reject it when the fault became apparent immediately post-purchase?
Yes, you can - and should - reject it now. You can reject it with either the finance company or the supplier.0 -
Time to reject, they had chance to fix it, they failed.
What vehicle btw? Some automatics are simply best avoided.
