Normally you will get the 1.26% and this should be confirmed when you get the rest of the paperwork.
You would certainly have grounds for complaint if not

As a practical point, why can you not fund it until you are sure of the interest rate? Is it life-or-death situation whether you achieve the extra 0.06% and get (or don't get) the extra £6 per £10,000 deposited?Biggus_Dickus said:However, there is no mention of the interest rate on their emails and I can’t login to see the interest rate until I receive my customer ID, which can take up to a week. Emailing them won't work because they will send a secure message to your inbox which you can't access until you get your ID in the post.Biggus_Dickus said:Just for info:
I think? I’ve opened a “1 Year Fixed Rate Account” at 1.26%
However, as soon as I’d finished the application, which takes just minutes, the website had changed and the rate is now 1.20%
The email confirming the application says this:
“We guarantee to pay the interest rate you’ve seen today provided a deposit is paid into the account within 14 calendar days of the account being opened.”
“You can see your new account details, including the interest rate, balance and maturity date (if applicable) by logging into Internet Banking using the ‘Personal Savings Account Log in’ at www.aldermore.co.uk/login-centre.”
However, there is no mention of the interest rate on their emails and I can’t login to see the interest rate until I receive my customer ID, which can take up to a week. I cannot fund this account until I’m sure of the interest rate.
50mins and counting on the phone waiting to speak to their help-desk. Sent an email as well.
Not the start I was hoping for...Ho-hum!

I've just opened a 6 month account via HL Active savings. A measly 0.8%.But I'll need it then so better that than a few decimal points less on instant access.0

I've just opened a 1 year fixed rate and now that's no longer available. A fast moving world of changing interest rates...
