Help! Parking eye Notice if small claims track!

I will try to keep this as short as possible.
March 2020 I went to a hotel for an interview. Forgot to pay the first hour or so I was there but having remembered I paid for the remainder of my time through the pay by phone app.
Unfortunately I had selected the wrong car as I had borrowed somebody's car that day, and the pressures of the interview had clouded my thinking.
Couple weeks later I receive a fine from parkingeye and being the honest (naive) individual I am I sent them an appeal telling them that I was the driver and I had in fact paid but the number plate I had input was wrong, and I paid for the majority of the time I was there but I am willing to compensate them for the hour or two that I didn't pay right at the start.
This was subsequently rejected so I appealed again and a few weeks later now I have been sent this notice of proposed allocation to the small claims track.
I will fill this out according to the sticky I read on this forum but I am wondering what are the most likely outcomes in this situation and do I still have a chance?
Thank you all in advance and if you do feel the need to berate me for my stupidity, please do not hold back

It is not a fine.
Have you really received an allocation to the small claims track meaning you are some way along the court process, or have you received a letter before claim or similar?
Since we do not know what stage you are actually at in the court process, and what you put in your defence if you have submitted one, nobody here can tell you whether you have a chance. In any case, a lot of it will come down to judge bingo on the day. One judge might find in your favour yet another one might not.
What happened when you complained to the landowner/hotel manager/hotel chain CEO?
Where did the dastardly deed allegedly occur?

My defence vaguely states that I was there and I did pay but allocated payment to the wrong car and that I am willing to pay for the first hour or so that I had forgotten.
I did not complain to the landowner, it was at the Crown Plaza in Harrogate. I didn't think it would make any sense to complain to them as I did believe I was in the wrong and they were not culpable.0 -
Are we to assume that you received a claim form from CCBC at Northampton, you submitted your AoS using MCOL and then submitted a defence? If that is the case then the NEWBIE sticky contains a link to how to complete the DQ (N180).2

I didn't think it would make any sense to complain to them as I did believe I was in the wrong and they were not culpable.Wrong, and this is the ONLY WAY you will get ParkingEye to offer that you settle for £60, which is the best you can aim for if you failed to pay for an hour's parking. This is covered on loads of P/Eye threads and only this week we've seen P/EYe offer to settle for £60 after a Hotel told them to cancel (which they will not do now unless someone pays, but it's only the HOTEL who will get that £60 offer).
DO NOT COME BACK TELLING US THE HOTEL MANAGER REFUSED TO HELP AND SAID IT'S TOO LATE.
IT IS TOO LATE BUT THE POINT IS, IF HE/SHE EMAILS ASKING FOR CANCELLATION, IT WILL GET YOU THE £60 OFFER.
You will not likely win in court. You would have done, had it only been about a VRM error or ten minutes. But not if you didn't pay for an hour - is that the case?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If so, how much in your experience do you think I would be looking at paying?
Yes I arrived at around 8:30 took a photo of the sign to paybyphone when I got a chance but then forgot to pay and remembered at around 10.
I appreciate your help!0 -

So my best bet is to just go to court and hope for the best possible outcome, although I will lose? No, that is the OPPOSITE of what I said. I told you to get the £60 offer - and the only way to get that - and to avoid a hearing. If so, how much in your experience do you think I would be looking at paying?£175.PRIVATE 'PCN'? UPDATE: Success!
After following the advice received from coupon-mad I went on to call the hotel to make a strong, yet polite, complaint. They then asked me to send the reference over to t he m via E-mail and I have just received a reply from them telling me it’s been cancelled! Hooray!Thank you again coupon mad you absolute legend!
do I still send out the N180 as the final date to send it through is quite close and I’m not sure if the message will get across to them before the deadline? Or do I just leave it now?2 -
Email enforcement at parking eye and ask if it's been cancelled and are they going to withdraw the claim from the CCBC ?? Attach a copy of the cancellation email as proof
Do not assume it is over until parking eye tell you that the claim has been discontinued
This should have been done long before it got to this stage !2
