Hi,
We had a holiday booked to Marsa Alam for Weds 23rd June 2020 (but this got cancelled for obvious reasons) and we have amended the holiday to the same time Weds 23rd June 2021. At the time of booking/rebooking, TUI had flights going from Manchester direct to Marsa Alam which is what we have booked. However, recently TUI have removed the holiday and flights from their website and no longer have ANY flights going from Manchester to Marsa Alam. All holidays and flights are now on a Monday from Birmingham Airport !!!
When I called TUI to ask if the holiday/flights have been amended - because the changes would not be convenient and I would like a Full Refund. The lady at the other end of the phone had to take advice - but came back to me with the response of their were no changes to my holiday and that the reason for the holiday being removed from the website was probably it was all sold out now!
I have asked them to put it in writing for me that there are no changes - but she said she could not do that and could only send me a conformation of my booking - which I am still waiting for.
I'm sure TUI are trying to hold onto my holiday booking and that the flights/hoiliday have been amended - but not sure how I go about proving it.!! When do they legally have to tell me about any amendments such as flights/airport/dates etc ??

i have no idea but with all due respect, travel companies are still flapping around dealing with customers who should have been on holiday over the last few months, and dealing with people who were meant to be travelling over the next few weeks and now arent, as well as dealing with multiple changes by multiple governments all over the world.
A holiday that isnt for 9 months is nowhere near priority for them to be dealing with whether you think it is or not, and if it has been cancelled they will get to you eventually.0 -
schedules are likely to be amended until air traffic slots are finalised for the season. Summer 21 schedule slots (that commence end March 21) may not be finalised until February next year.
I doubt any airline knows for sure what routes they will fly next year, days of week etc at this point
However I think the 'sold out' is not accurate. If you look on their website at "flight timetable" Manchester to Marsa Alam currently shows "no flights" (only Birmingham and Gatwick are options)
I suspect they will officially advise you of the cancellation at some point in the future but not sure if there is anything you can do to force a refund before then.....they could argue that they may add the flights back into the schedule before you are due to travel.0 -
Also, people at the end of the phone will not have any authority to send you anything. They will tell you how it is at this particular moment in time, which is...the flights are as stands. People don't even know what the situation is next week never mind in 10 months time. Just forget it for now and see how it all pans out.0
