Brittany Ferries

I have a ferry booking for a trip to France later on this week. It is a flexible fare which entitles me to a 75% refund. The ferry is still operating and BF expect me to travel. Obviously it is inadvisable to travel against FCO advice so I need to cancel. This will mean I will lose around £190. Can this be claimed from my travel insurance or is it my tough luck? I know it is only a relatively trivial amount but wouldn't want to lose it if I am entitled to claim. For info, the original ferry was booked in Dec last year and has already been moved back twice. I cannot travel later this year or next. Grateful for advice.

Does your travel insurance cover you for not travelling due to FCO advice?
And if so, what is your excess?

Thank you for your response zx81.
Indeed it does cover FCO advisories, and the excess is only £20 for loss of deposits. So I assume that answers my own question. Thank you.0 -
Just for the record.....
Top marks to HSBC travel insurance. One quick phone call. All agreed and the money is already on its way to me. I know it is a relatively small amount but I thought it was excellent service.0
