  • Then it's back to the coffee and cake plan, with a legal letter as the last resort.  There isn't a sensible alternative course of action.
  • I'd be tempted to go around there and offer to do it myself so long as I could have the wood.
    I'd then proceed to have a party with a firepit, burning the wood and toasting marshmallows .

    We have a fire path around the back of neighbours garden leading onto the street. We have this because of being in a terrace & no other means to leave property if there is a fire at the front.
    Do your deeds say that you have a right of way for something like "all purposes" or only in the event of a fire?
    If you have a normal ROW then the neighbour legally shouldn't block it.
    If the nice chat doesn't solve the problem, your next call is a solicitor to point out the neighbour's responsibilities to him.
