I can't see anywhere on the Jet2 website stating that this is an option on what I presume is a flight only booking, can you provide a link? The airline is cancelling a lot of flights to the "forbidden" countries themselves, however.

I spoke to someone on Saturday at Jet2 and this was what she told me and suggested I leave it a few days and call back to see if anything has changed as I’d be paying the maximum change fee just now as it is.bradders1983 said:I can't see anywhere on the Jet2 website stating that this is an option on what I presume is a flight only booking, can you provide a link? If Portugal is added onto the UK quarantine and FCO non approved list on Thursday then I imagine JET2 as per usual policy will cancel everything affected.
Portugals stats are currently 24 per 100,000 so a reasonable chance it is back on the UK naughty step Thursday.

Thanks but I don’t want to be hoping other people’s plans are ruined as well, if we have to just suck it up, sadly we’ll do that.0

The FCO advice for countries like France is they advise against all but essential travel. If you've booked a package holiday then you'll be able to get a refund, your booking transferred or a credit note. However, if you've booked flight only it depends on the airline's policy, with Ryanair you would certainly not get a refund but you may be able to change your booking for an alternative route or an alternative date.kaggi said:
Yes it would if it was against FCO advice. I would be able to cancel my flights for a refund or credit note as oppose to now when I can only change the dates for an additional fee.eskbanker said:
It wouldn't make any difference if it was a UK-wide quarantine, by the way....kaggi said:However, as it isn’t a UK wide quarantine if we don’t go it is classed as a disinclination to travel so can’t get a refund for flights
What you have to remember is the Scottish government are not advising against going on holiday to Portugal they are just saying if you go to Portugal then you need to self-isolate for 14 days after returning as a precaution, in the same way that if you've been to a pub and may have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive then you need to self-isolate for 14 days.0 -
Grant Shapps took a different approach to Portugal last week. He said the country was just above the 20 mark that they usually use for implementing the 14 day quarantine. However, the country had done a lot more testing than other countries, which is partly why the rate being reported increased, therefore he didn't want to penalise Portugal (or other countries) for doing the right thing. Scotland took a different approach and said it's over 20 so everyone returning to Scotland from Portugal is to self-isolate.superbigal said:If Portugal is added onto the UK quarantine and FCO non approved list on Thursday then I imagine JET2 as per usual policy will cancel everything affected.

A rather bizarre stance for England to take when you take into account the UK has done more testing and cacked itself as a result and implemented the "rule of 6".epm-84 said:
