Mail for previous Tenant

I received a message in the post - handwritten note from who I suppose is the previous tenant asking if there was any mail for him and where to forward it to. The note said that I could drop it off at his brothers who lives a few doors down. I was not in at the time.
There are some important looking documents - Driving, HMRC - should I return to sender or ask the Landlord what to do?

Personally I would return to sender by crossing out the address and popping it back into the postbox. Previous tenant should have set up a redirection service with Royal Mail, either to their new address or to the brother’s address, especially if they were expecting important documents.
It’s definitely not your responsibility to be handling anything that looks like official documents, you could be liable for something if you stuffed someone’s private information through another door’s letterbox. And who really knows who the note came from?2021 Fashion on the Ration Challenge - 66/66 coupons remaining.1 -
Just return to sender, they should be redirecting and telling senders their new address.

I'd just return to sender. I still (after 8 years) get Christmas/birthday cards for the previous tenant without a return address on. They end up in the bin.1

Return to sender.
You have no way of knowing if the note is legit - so definitely don't follow it. It may be somebody who knew the tenant, trying some kind of identity-theft scam.1 -
