Green Homes Grant scheme
Options
Hi. We are in the process of buying a Bungalow but will not be moved in by the end of September, is there a cut off time to apply for the green homes grant? We are probably looking at mid November before all is completed with the purchase, we don`t really want to miss out on the grant but it looks like we will be too late to apply for it. Can we apply before the purchase is complete then get the contractors to come round when we have moved in? I am guessing no because the contractors will need to see what needs doing before we apply.
The Homebuyers survey said the roof insulation is not thick enough so need to replace that, also the bungalow is Timber framed so I am not sure what sort of insulation we can have in the walls etc.

Hi, I watched the programme on Thursday 1 Oct about the Green Energy Scheme & that you don't have to repay the grant. That is, unless you are putting in, for example, an Air Source Heat Pump and getting the RHI payment. If you're getting the RHI & apply for the grant you'll have to pay it back. This is on Martins email but not mentioned on the programme, worth a note as we've just trawled all the info to find out whether we could apply for both.
