I have been made CR . Last working day 31 August . I am being paid a PIlON and am entitled to 10 weeks notice . The employer has used some of August as notice period As we made redundant on 7 August at 1730 , the rest Is paid as Pilon . To date I have had no calculations of how my pilon was calculated . I believe it to be wrong I have just been given an amount . Is it my right to be shown the calculation prior to signing settlement ? Are my pension contributions deducted from Pilon payment ?

Hi Sunshimmer123. Firstly check your contract to make sure you can be paid a pilon. Even if you don’t I suspect you are fine not working. But that said you should get a breakdown of your payments and confirmation of your exit date. If you haven’t gained this ask for a breakdown as this is important. If this is a non voluntary redundancy then you don’t need to sign anything - they should be issuing you with the relevant documentation. You should gain something that shows exit date along with accrued unused holiday and pension payments. Pension payments per your regular salary payments should be made if you are in a pension scheme and these will come out of your regular salary payments whether you work this 7 weeks or not.0
