The general idea is to leave as much as possible to my heirs, not to impoverish them.
    Sod that.

Money I leave people is money I've not spent in my life.

The only thing I would like to spend some money on at the moment is a decent gardener. Can I find one? No!
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Aim for the zero sum life
come in with nothing go out with nothing,

Hard to get the sums for the exit till you are close to incapable to spend.

I’d settle for reliable. Decent would be a bonus.
And as for spending ... well I have had to be careful with money all my life so difficult to change now.  £10k now to save at £5k over the next 20 years, assuming I live that long, and add another 90 years to a 129 year lease, doesn’t sound all that inviting.
