What happens to HSBC regular saver when current account switches

    How are they going to pay the savings into the current account you don't have?
    Given the OP is using the switch service, that is not a issue. Just like any other payments made to the old 

    But part of the switching process will see HSBC checking to see the the account holder has any other accounts. These will then be dealt with as needed. So in this case it  may well be closed the day before the switch and the funds moved to the current account.

    Thanks for all your advice. I guess it’s wait and see what happens and I’ll come back with an update. 
    I’ve not made the full deposit amount since April, but even if I had, the £100 from Halifax + £5 monthly reward are overall much better value. 
    Nonetheless, I wondered if it was automatically closed, if I needed to do anything, or if I should just wait and see!

    You could have course be opening  a donor account (or two) then you would be able to: keep your regular saver, get a switch deal from Halifax and another from RBS (and  even a third from Ulster Bank!)
    Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
