Beyond Freesat? Any FTA satellite offerings?

We currently have Freesat installed, and are considering a second satellite dish.
Is it with it? Are there any decent Free to Air satellite channels not on Freesat?

I'm sure there are loads of decent foreign TV channels you could pick up with an extra dish, but perhaps that's not what your looking for.

If you point your dish in the right direction there are many channels available.

But unfortunately unless you have a motorised dish it would be a case of getting up on the chimney/roof every time you want to look at another satellite

As a general rule if its not on Freesat already it'll be encrypted and not available to view.  All the Sky premium channels (cinema, sports, the packaged channels) are encrypted for a start.  There isn't much difference in the channel listing between Freesat and Freesat From Sky, which is what a Sky+HD box does when your subscription expires aside from maybe a +1 channel or two and all the other regions which I believe you can change on your box.

What is your idea of a 'decent' channel? We have no idea what sort of programmes you are looking for.

There's probably an option in your current Freesat box to also view all FTA channels available on the same satellite -- you can then judge for yourself.
