My Hermes postable service

I have an item, less than 100g but fractionally too small for an RM large letter- the box is rigid so I can't even pretend it could squash through the RM gauge if checked. I have looked at the Hermes postable service and that appears to have a depth of 3cms , as opposed to the RM large letter of 2.5cms so should be OK. Has anyone ever used the postable service, is there any gauge or such like where you can check at the shop? I don't want to risk this being marginally over 3 cms and costing me a penalty charge - but the box has a domed lid and I can't see how to be 100% sure it is definitely less than 3cms.

I would make a 3cm tall template (out of corrugated cardboard, if you have any), or use the book+tape measure method similar to the way people measure heights.
Or can you put it upside-down on a flat surface then measure where the (presumably) flat bottom of the parcel comes?1 -
I used Hermes large letter when the site stated 3cm thick because the post office had turned me away.
The LL was just over 2.5cm (or 25mm) via the PO lady using the RM go... no go template .
At the time it was £2.39 this was probably In may .
After booking that online I checked the site a few times and each I checked it wasnt saying 3cm anymore ....it was showing 2.5cm?0 -
At the PO depending on who you get on the day and if they have had a bad day ..they may say your large letter doesnt go through the 25mm slot easy enough ie requires pulling it through the 25mm perspex gauge slot by hand which isnt accepted .
Must go thru easy from one side .

I don't use a Post Office , I pre label my parcels and manifest them - and because of that I have a PO issued gauge at home. My package is definitely not a LL it will not go through the slot so I would not send it as one, hence looking at Hermes.TOP_CAT said:At the PO depending on who you get on the day and if they have had a bad day ..they may say your large letter doesnt go through the 25mm slot easy enough ie requires pulling it through the 25mm perspex gauge slot by hand which isnt accepted .
