Ebico - can I leave before British Gas take over the account
Options
I moved to Ebico on 15 Aug and to be fair the transfer from my old supplier was fast. I last paid my old supplier on 1 Aug am due to make my first Ebico payment on 1 Oct. Now can I leave Ebico - is there a cooling off period etc or should I stay put as BG have guaranteed to honor the tariff ? Not worried about the transferred as i was with Coop energy when the went under a few years ago.

My gas is with Ebico and I've just had the email this morning. Looks like I'll be switching ASAP as I'm not giving a penny to British Gas.0

There is a possibility you won't be able to move until BG have fully transferred your account, you can only have one switch in progress and there is a fair chance the database will now be showing a switch has started.

Whats the best course of action if your current (no exit fee) fixed tariff is about to end in the next month? The new lowest fixed tariff now has exit fees!0

The deal isn't due to be officially completed until the 16th September so so can still set up a switch away until at least that date.
What I've read is that it may not be until November that all of the switches are complete, so if you don't want to join British Gas (on the same or better tariff) then switch away now, even if it means going onto a more expensive tariff.0 -

Or wait for the switch from Ebico to BG to go through and then switch to another supplier, though this could leave you on SVT for a few weeks. No free lunch, and no free laptop1 -
I started my switch and my gas will be switched to my new supplier on the 28th Sep. BG can get stuffed.
My Ebico tariff was due to end in November so BG would have only honoured it until then.0
