Joint Account for first time buyers.

Options
Good afternoon, my partner and I will be starting the process of buying our first home in the next couple of months. We were told it’s best to get a joint bank account where we use it for the purpose of bills and mortgage payments. I’m 21 years old my partner is 20. We have no idea which bank to use and what account to open etc. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • No hard and fast rule here. Depending on where you have your Mortgage you could find it pays to have it with them, or maybe not. If your able to transfer a running account to say Halifax you can get £100 for the switch and if you can move money about, £5 a month.
You could get a referral link 😏 for Metro Bank and get £50 for just opening it and spending on the card 10 times. Other than that maybe Nationwide FlexDirect if you can hold a lump in it or TSB if you can't.

I can DM a referral link for Metro if it would help.
