Quarantining if planning to return to Spain

Can anyone offer advise on the following:
I had two trips planned to spain in the next couple of months. do i need to quarantine for 14 days before i return to spain for the second trip?

The important thing to note is the FCO currently advise against all but essential travel to Spain, so if you do travel to Spain for leisure purposes then it's unlikely any travel insurance you have will be valid, so if you take ill and the EHIC doesn't cover what you need then you'll need to be able to fund additional medical costs at your own expense.  Also if the situation gets worse and Spain imposes a lockdown lasting 3 months then you're unlikely to get any help from the FCO if you travelled against their advice - it's unlikely they'll arrange a rescue flight like they did for British people were got stuck in Wuhan in January.

The government's advice on quarantine isn't crystal clear but the general conscious in a similar thread seemed to be you can leave the UK before the 14 days have expired, so if your second trip is 10 days after your first then you can go.  However, if you mean you want to go to Spain for the 1st week of September and the 1st week of October then you'll need to spend the 2nd and 3rd weeks of both September and October in quarantine unless FCO advice changes.

The UK isnt a prison. You can leave at any point and go back to Spain assuming Spain dont change their rules.

You have to travel "directly" for any second trip within the first quarantine.

If the 2nd country were off the list, you need to resume and complete your first quarantine on return.

That second paragraph is ridiculous given someone could be going to a country off the list for a month.

It's poorly worded.

If you left on 1st of the month for Spain, crossed to Portugal on the 8th and returned home on the 15th then currently (as things stand) you'd have to do 1 week quarantine on return.

If you return home from Spain on the 8th, then fly to Portugal on 10th and fly home on the 15th then you'd still have to do 1 week quarantine on return from Portugal, as well as the 2 days between getting back from Spain and going to Portugal.

many thanks for your comments. epm-84 reinforced my original belief that if you are leaving the UK before 14 days has expired.
the whole business is a complete cake and !!!!!! party.
