Nat West Reward Account

Options
To meet the terms it says £1250 must be paid in each month. I am slightly short of that sum. Could i pay in the shortfall from a different account, and then transfer it back out again every month.

Thanks

Yup lots of MSE members do exactly this to get various benefits from accounts, myself included.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.
  • It usually doesn't matter how many transfers are required, as long as the monthly pay in requirement is met by the end of the month in question. It's entirely possible to pay in £625 twice to qualify for the requirement (eg. pay in, transfer it out, then pay it back in again immediately). You could even break it down further if you needed (eg. 5x £250, 30x ~£42, or even 1250 x £1...)

The different account would be outside NatWest?

The account, i had in mind is my wifes Nat West current account.  A account in her own name.

The terms state "The £1,250 can’t be paid in from a current account or savings account you hold with us."
If you have a joint account with your wife then it's open to interpretation as to whether "you" includes her also. If you don't have a joint account then I think it's a stretch to include her as being "you" simply because you are married so I would think it's okay.
To avoid any confusion it would be better to be from a non Nat West account, something like a simple savings account would suffice.
