I'm off to France at the weekend. I'm getting some Euros from Travelex (as recommended). I've also got two credit cards - Egg & MBNA Plat and debit cards - Lloyds and Barclays. I DON'T have Nationwide. So which cards are the best for me to use?
Thanks in advance.

All cards will charge 2.75% currency conversion fee (Egg 2.65%).
PLUS for cash withdrawals:
-Both your debit cards: 1.5% min £2.00 max £4.50 (Barclays: free from BNP Paribas ATMs)
-Egg, MBNA 2% (min £2 Egg, £3 MBNA)
P.S. Get Nationwide!0 -
Hi I don't have much time to get the Nationwide as I'm off on Sunday. So you think using Barclays with BNP Paribas ATMs is the best out of all my choices?

I don't mean right away. I mean before your next trip!kinster wrote:Hi I don't have much time to get the Nationwide as I'm off on Sunday.
Best for withdrawning money. All your cards are about the same for purchases. So you think using Barclays with BNP Paribas ATMs is the best out of all my choices?0 -
So you think it's best for me to make purchases using cash withdrawn from a BNP Paribas ATM?

No, you can make purchases with all your cards with no difference (Egg is a little bit better). However, if you need cash, debit cards are a little better for withdrawing cash than credit cards and if you find BNP Paribas ATM it is better to use Barclay's.0
