Closed my 1 year Easy Access account with this bank last Fridayand as it was Bank Holiday was told money would be in my linked account on Tuesday.     Still no money has been transferred.  Anyone else had problems with this bank?

Yes have rang them three times now, the last time being this morning but they seem to be fobbing me off and making excuses. Going to be a long weekend until Monday when they said it should be in my bank account. So worrying.
  • Sorry my mistake it was 29th August.

While it may mature on 29 Aug which was a Saturday, given the public holiday on Monday. So at a guess nothing will have been done till Tuesday at the earliest.  Some accounts take a few days for interest etc to be added and accounts closed. Then for the money to be moved.
    Life in the slow lane
  • I don't know how much we're talking about here, but I think you're panicking unnecessarily. Even though they were previously called Bank of Cyprus, they are registered over here (since 1955), and are covered by FSCS.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.
  • And, as @born_again said, weekends and Bank Holidays mean it's necessary to allow for delays in processing.
  • Did you really close an account on 28th August that was due to mature on 29th August, or is that just a typo error?

Did not think you could close fixed term accounts, so assuming the latter.

That said, I would have liked my matured funds a lot quicker than appears to be happening in your case.

As others have said though, fingers crossed for Monday. 🤞
  • No not a typo error. I had rang them earlier and they told me to ring on 28th as it was maturing next day and as it was a Bank Holiday it would be in my bank the following Tuesday. Same day I cashed in another account with another bank and money appeared in my bank two hours later!!  Customer Services could not explain why I am waiting so long. Thanks for answering though. I,m completely perplexed.
