My currently job everyone is take the pay cut for 3 months because of Coronavirus has effect our business. I am already register myself as a self employment for Amazon Flex on apps and I have passed my criminal check and I went through the term & condition and agreed. But it did not mention me if I need a Business insure for use my car, I went ask one of my colleague who was deliver at my house yesterday and I ask him about the insurance he said the Amazon Flex do cover, but to me it seems a bit fishy, I went on Youtube the people who do same job as my, I look on the comment lots of people were asked about insurance, all they said Amazon is cover! I am really confused! I have been through 8 insurance today to quote none of them qualify for Class 3 business insurance. I have 16 years of driving experience, no accident, no points I do not know why I am not qualify for Class 3 business insurance. I have a Fiat Punto 5 door the boot is huge with seat fold down so that must be the wrong car for Class 3 business insurance?

You need to ask Amazon if you need the cover or if they provide it0 -
Business class insurance:
1 - PH only driving between their employers multiple sites
2 - All drivers driving between their employers multiple sites
3 - Where driving is a key function of the job (eg travelling sales man) but excludes deliveries and carrying paying passengers
Assuming you are delivering amazon parcels then class 3 isnt appropriate for your needs.
Either speak to Amazon to see if they offer an add on policy, look into the PAYG add on policies you can get or speak to a broker about getting quotes for courier/commercial motor insurance.0 -
Try LV, they offer Commercial use car insurance.0
-
Amazon will provide a separate policy providing Third Party Only cover, this covers damage to other people or property but not to your own car.
Speak to Amazon / your team leader0 -

I have come across the Amazon policy in my job and I can confirm that your vehicle will be covered by Amazon. The policy is administered by Zurich Insurance on behalf of Amazon but you must contact your Amazon rep and ensure that your vehicle registration number is noted on their Fleet policy.
Once you have had that confirmed you will be covered for any journeys that were part of your delivery role but they will use the delivery tracker to confirm this. For any time that you drive and it is not work related your own insurance policy will cover this. An important thing to remember is that personal policies do not cover courier work even if you have a business extension. The reasons are complicated but as a previous insurance underwriter I can categorically confirm that you will not be covered for any courier work by any of the big name insurers. You would need a specific policy from a specialist broker. As Amazon cover you for any work you do with them you should contact them as it will save you spending money needlessly.

Hello.
it’s a bit more complicated for myself since I didn’t pass criminal record check so I literally had someone else signup and pass the check and I just use their name to deliver once they pickup parcels. It’s the only way those with criminal records can do it since companies cannot be bothered to look past the old history in life.
I already have delivery insurance as a fast food driver which I got from a broker, they pay £400 cash a week, so getting that into a bank to pay the insurance presents itself with another issue, amen for Monzo ;-)
I have been stopped a few times delivering Amazon’s parcels in lockdown but for some reason I passed all checks without an issue and I don’t have business level 1,2 or 3!
Dont know what’s going on there but hey ho.0
