I have looked at the packet on line (see below). It says flour and not bread or slices or loaf on each half of the packet.  So to me its means it a 50/50 loaf by another name.

I wouldn't have thought otherwise based on Kingsmill etc precedents, but they have part transparent packaging and you can see the uniformity of the product. I think this packaging can be construed to be misleading.

I can't believe the branding won be changed once there is a critical mass of complaints.
I don't believe the pack will be changed as it seems to have been rebranded recently the article here is dated the 20th August https://www.talkingretail.com/products-news/grocery/warburtons-adds-half-and-half-range-to-portfolio-20-08-2020/. The product name has not changed.  So people who previously bought the product will know its the same product just different packaging.

Why is it misleading ? It clearly says half white flour, half wholewheat flour. It doesn’t say anywhere half white loaf, half brown loaf.
It's because there is such a clear division on the packaging. One side says half white flour, there is a clear distinction between the two halves and the other says half wholewheat.

I can see how it could be misconstrued, esp as the 50/50 concept is not a new one.

Personally, I don't like any of the commercial sliced breads or the supermarket ones heated up in store. I bake my own bread, I make granary loaves for my parents, I have white bread using Tang Zhong method and for my wife I use the "Diedre" recipe for keto low carb bread. Recipe I use for all the breads are entirely different; the granary loaves are far nicer than any supermarket loaves; the Tang Zhong method (making a flour/water paste as part of recipe) makes for a lovely soft bouncy white loaf and my wife's bread is really low in carbs (2g carbs, 95 calories each slice), looks like brown bread and tastes as good as normal proper bread, it is lovely.

Only thing commercial bread is any good for me now is toasting, if I am running low on my own bread. Seriously, give bread making a go, it isn't hard although you do need a stand mixer.

Me too. I seem to remember 10 / 15.  Not sure if that was the name, or advertiserd as 10 thick slices and 15 thin.

It is a bit deceiving, but I usually buy 50/50 so I did notice it was just repackaged. I’m sure others will have made the mistake.
