Masters Apprenticeship - student finance?

Hi all
I have been accepted onto an MBA apprenticeship.  The course is funded by my employer.  Can I still apply for student finance postgraduate loan?  I looked online at the exclusion criteria but it doesn't specifically mention apprenticeship students.  
I started to do an application on the student finance england website but don't want to apply if I shouldn't be.   The money would be useful to go towards my costs as my employer is not giving me study time, textbooks, travel or accommodation costs  and the course expects friday - sunday attendance at the uni which is too far away for me to travel each day.
